TRZ (Technical overhauling institution) Cacak is the institution of the Army of Serbia and Montenegro whose basic activity is technical maintenance and general overhauling of combat technology devices including its corresponding systems, set of machines and appliances. Based on the developed overhauling technology, available capacities and long-term experience in this field of engineering, TRZ is enabled for successful overhauling realization of combat devices, such as caterpillar-type vehicles, wheel-type vehicles, artillery arms, missiles, infantry arms, communications, optical and opt electronic devices, energetic devices and rocket technology.

TRZ engages its developed capacities on giving services to civilian sector and thanks to successfully developed overhauling technology, available capacities, personnel potential and several years lasting experience, it successfully performs:

• Projecting, development and engineering works on maintenance of means devices, machines and equipment;
• Technical maintenance and overhauling of motors, motor vehicles, agricultural, civil engineering and mining mechanization;
• Breaking in and testing Otto and Diesel engines whose power is 2-1900kW;
• Production of spare parts;
• Machining;
• Machining of motor parts;
• Heat treatment and chemical-heat treatment;
• Regenerating of the parts;
• Overhauling and repair of personal and sport arms;
• Production of mobile work rooms with different appliances;
• Production of semi trailers and special superstructure;
• Overhauling of machine crankshaft and special appliances;
• Testing of mechanical and chemical properties of material;
• Chemical and galvanic protection;
• Repair and verification of measuring means;
• Services of transporting special cargos, vehicles and machines;
• Training of persons in handling and maintenance of hunting, sport and personal weapons;
• Projecting of informational systems.

The development of TRZ is a continuous process to which special attention is being given. In current conditions of technological and personnel qualification the activities on development are directed toward:

• Starting of general overhauling of new technical means in the Army of Serbia and Montenegro;
• Modification and modernization of the means;
• Projecting and setting new technological lines and modernization of the existing;
• Production of technological projects of overhauling departments and of the Institution itself;
• Giving technical help while putting certain objects or technological lines in operation;
• Starting production of spare parts;
• Starting new products of the Institution (military equipment and teaching aids);
• Training of the personnel for TMS maintenance by organizing special training courses.

Within developing activities and improving the quality of overhauling services and production, TRZ produces the following technical documentation:

• Technical overhauling documentation for overhauling and repairing means;
• Constructional documentation for producing spare parts, tools, special devices and other products;
• Technological documentation for production;
• Internal and external official documents of standardization and product quality regulations;
• Technical instructions, recommendations and information.

The production of this type of documentation engages highly professional technical personnel; in some cases it is particularly trained and authorized for certain specialties.

TRZ Cacak is a significant factor in the means maintenance system in the Army of Serbia and Montenegro. It manages with respective year’s capacity of about million norm-hours, equipment, tools, working premises and personnel who are qualified for maintenance the most complex systems from the continental military armament.

By long-standing work on overhauling the means of the Army of Serbia and Montenegro and of civilian sector the Institution enabled capacities for regeneration of complex parts and assembly blocks. In this way the renewed use of damaged parts is supplied and the overhauling expenses are considerably decreased.

The Institution realized integral informational system supported by computer equipment, which through the united database integrates informational flows of all business functions and production processes. Quality supplement and improvement of business and production is our constant task in order to meet demands of our customers and service users. We are able to offer projecting and developing of informational system to all interested users.
